“This tinted all in 1 moisturizer is a duo of lightweight, tone-matching coverage and daily hydration, so you can instantly even and illuminate dull tone. In 1 month skin is visibly smoother and discolorations are diminished. Apply daily to clean skin in the AM and reapply at least every 2 hours when used as a sunscreen. For optimal results, use in conjunction with other Youth Code™ products.”
This product has a very impressive first impression with its very product friendly packaging. The opaque squeeze tube keeps the ingredients safe from the light and air. This Skin Illuminator is basically a moisturizer which is tinted and has a SPF of 20. Personally, I think that SPF20 does not provide a broad spectrum protection, especially in a tropical land like ours. So I would’ve preferred a minimum of 30SPF. The consistency of this product is very thick and emollient and its “illuminating” properties comes from the super dewy finish it gives, certainly not for the oily skinned. I myself have acutely dry/dehydrated skin, and it is almost too dewy for me. Although I must say that I love its finish, it leaves my skin aptly moisturized, that is if I use a pea sized amount. A little too much and my face too looks like an oil rig.
Coverage wise I’d call it super sheer. I have not seen a shade rage in it but because it is so sheer it will probably suit most of the skin tones.
For those with sensitive/reactive skin, I must mention that this product contains fragrance. Although it is the last mentioned ingredient ( hence in a minimal quantity), it is still advisable to not use skincare/makeup which contains perfume/fragrance/fragrant oils as they might cause break outs and skin irritation.
Although it is a decent product, I won’t be repurchasing it as there are similar but better products available in the market right now. Priced at INR 950, I’d say that at best, it is an average skincare/makeup product.
