The Body Shop Drops of Youth Bouncy Sleeping Mask | Review

“Discover our new Drops of Youth™ Bouncy Sleeping Mask, enriched with Edelweiss stem cells. Designed to be left on overnight, it leaves skin looking bouncier and feeling replenished.”

  • Youth-enhancing formula for bouncier-looking skin
  • Unique bouncy, memory shape texture
  • With Edelweiss stem cells

It has been almost 3weeks now, since I started using this new Sleeping Mask from The Body Shop. A follow up to the Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask and many Korean Overnight Masks, this is probably the only decent sleeping mask readily available in India.
Packaging – Heavy glass tub, also included is a spatula for product extraction. I would have preferred a simple tube. Very possible that they charge extra 500 bucks just for the packaging itself. Just Saying!
The Texture – The most interesting of the things this mask has is the texture. Very gelatinous, very memory foam-esq (yea, you press it and it takes the impression of your finger before coming back to its stable shape). You have to check it out, it is so weird (but not gross) to touch. It is a quite thick white jelly product like in touch and look.
Application – You have to apply it just the way you do your usual night cream. Do not layer it over your face like any other  mask. Rub it in, and it turns into this rather thin gel texture. It takes about 15 minutes to almost fully absorb.
Immediate Result  – I am talking Day-1, i.e. the first time I applied it on my face. It leaves a slightly sticky feel on the face, not a problem though. Immediately, the skin is visibly  more supple and it feels  like the pores just chugged in a glass of water. The next morning, my skin felt incredibly soft and hydrated – not oily – hydrated. Another thing that you will notice from Day-1 of use is the subtle glow your cheeks have – true, it will make your skin glow!
3 Weeks Later (Today) – I mostly used it every single day, barring a few hectic days of course. My skin today feels more moisturised, supple, comfortable and with a better texture. My skin is not eating up my BB Cream or rest of whatever makeup I put. It is happily hydrated.
It did not break me out, and my skin is sensitive to fragrant products. The fine line under my eyes are more tolerant of my concealer, they have kind of “softened”
Should You Try This? – Absolutely! Although an “all skin type” product, people with dehydrated, dry skin will benefit greatly with this. Also people with eczema may also try this out, as I have read rave reviews from those suffering from eczema.
Do I Recommend It? – Hell Yes!
What I Dislike? – The price girls. It is more expensive than the Origins Drink Up Intensive Mask ($25 for 100 ml), where Origins is luxury skincare. For a mask, anyone will think twice before purchasing it.
Price – INR 2295

Rating – 4.5/5(.5 deducted for the price)

KEY INGREDIENT

Babassu oil is extracted from the nuts of the wild babassu palm tree, found on the fringes of the Amazon rainforest in Brazil. Our supplier, The Cooperative of Agricultural Producers of Lago de Junco (COPPALJ) is based in the north-eastern state of Maranhão in Brazil. It comprises over 150 members from 12 communities. The babassu tree has become an important subsistence resource in Maranhão, where over 300,000 families harvest babassu and are often dependent upon this activity for their economic survival. COPPALJ provides a fair wage, and also helps to lobby on behalf of babassu-harvesting communities to help them protect the forest and their livelihood. To find out more, visit our Community Fair Trade section.

  • "extra 500 bucks just for the packaging itself"… LOL
I have to stop reading your blog or I'll become broke :/ 😛
Is it OK to use this in early 20s if one just has normal-dry skin ?
The 'Drops of Youth' kind of indicates its anti ageing & I don't want to start using anti ageing products now, what if the ingredients won't work on my skin when I'm in 30s ?

  • Looks fantastic product to include in night regime but price??? Ooouuchhh!!
