The Blackcherry

Its the time of the year when the most used word in makeup world becomes “berry”. Every year, we have a new favourite autumn lipstick to obsess over. Last year, for me, it was the Kate Moss Lasting Finish Matte in 107. This year, it is Revlon’s Super Lustrous Creme` Blackcherry.
It is a almost exact dupe of the heartbreakingly expensive Tom Ford’s Black Orchid  and is also the glossier version of MAC’s Retro Matte in Media (with a little bit more red in it).

The lipstick is creamy, utterly buttery smooth and highly pigmented. The faint hearted can apply it by dabbing it over their lips. it still does provide a beautiful dark raspberry colour. When applied full-on, it appears as its name – blackened cherry, a mix of purple/red/black pigments. Finish is quite glossy. Absolutely gorgeous!!
I am not going to go too much in detail with the packaging as almost everyone owns atleast one Super Lustrous, and its all the same slightly tacky black plastic tube with gold detailings. Very Vintage, still tacky nonetheless 😛
The downside – well it does bleed. Also, it is way too creamy for its own good. A lip-liner is a must in its case.
So, what is your favourite autumn/fall/winter lip colour??
