Nuxe | Rêve de Miel® | Ultra Nourishing Lip Balm | Review

Happy February people!!…Welcome to the spring of 2014!! I know it still must be freezing cold in many places. Not to make you jealous, but here in Hyderabad we are having a lovely weather!

On to the product.. I, totally and completely obsessed with lip balms. I do not know exactly how many do I own, but just for example sake – I have 2 sitting on my bedside table, 3 sticks in my handbag and atleast 7 stacked on my dresser….so roughly 12.
I have been using Nuxe’s  Rêve de Miel® for about 2 weeks now and I have fallen in love with it. It is unlike any other lip balm I have ever used. It does not have dimethicone or petrolatum (petroleum jelly), common components of any lip balm.
The main ingredients of Reve de Miel are Honey, Shea Butter, Rose Hip Oil, Calendula Oil, Almond Oil along with Beeswax, Grape Fruit and SPF. Its just all good!

“Soothe your chapped lips with the Nuxe Reve de Miel Honey Lip Balm, a delicious, whipped lip formula.

When lips are dry and are in need of some intensive nourishment, this rich and restorative balm with restore suppleness. A true cult product, one Reve de Miel balm is sold across the world every 28 seconds.

The concentration of natural ingredients includes repairing honey, ultra soothing plant oils, nourishing shea butter and soothing grapefruit essence, which also provides the balm’s luscious scent. With its exquisite texture and non-greasy feel, the Reve de Miel balm is a pleasure to use.

Apply the balm to the lips and the contour as often as required all year round. It can even be used on sores and light burns.”

This is probably the thickest lipbalm ever! It applies on skin smoothly and provides a matt finish. As it has no petroleum jelly in it, it does not give out that lip gloss shine. Not to mention, petroleum does not actually has any moisturising property of its own. It just forms a barrier to keep the moisture in.

The packaging is pretty, a sturdy, frosted glass jar. It is pretty heavy for its tiny size. Quantity is 15g.
It is pretty expensive for being a lip balm, but I tell you, it is worth investing in. The balm is mind-blowing!!
It moisturises my lips. Makes matt lipsticks easier to wear. It did repair my chapped lips. Infact, when I bought it, I had a cold sore on my lips, and I can bet this accelerated the healing process.

The product is pale yellow in colour. The texture is thick and a bit grainy (click on the image for a better view of the product). But worry not, it does not show on lips when you apply it. It is super hydrating and softening. My favourite time of applying this balm is night-time. the next morning I find my lips hydrated, restored, replenished and plumper. Also, it smells citrus-sy, obviously because of the grapefruit extract in it.

The Good

  • Moisturises
  • Matte finish (if you like that kind)
  • Has SPF
  • Paraben free
  • Mineral Oil free
  • No silicones
  • A little goes a long way
The Bad
  • None, except it is bit expensive
Will I buy it again??….YES!!
