Top Five Foundations for Spring/Summer | Luxury & Drugstore

It is such a “summer bummer” when you are out and about to maybe a party of a cute lunch date and whatever little makeup you have on your face decides to melt off, making you look like a character  from John Carpenter’s The Thing - not cute.

So here is a little roundup of 5 foundations that I know will survive the scorching heat and whatever comes along with it - sticky humidity or the drylands moisture draught from Mad Max. OK enough movie references!

This version of Maybelline Fit Me foundation range is a gift from L’Oreal (mother company of Maybelline) to us. Remember the time when “matte” foundations would suck the life out of your skin and make is look flaky and enhance your dry patches? Well, not anymore! This foundation does none of that.
It goes on semi-matte i.e still gives skin a certain “glow”without causing the grease-face. Stays on for a good 7-8 hours without touch-ups. Does not crease nor does it move around.

(frequently available on discounts around various online outlets)

Okay, so this one is purely a mattifying foundation. It has a matte finish and as the name suggests, it lasts the whole damn day! The best part about this foundation is the colour tone. Almost all of them are warm/yellow toned that perfectly compliment Indian (Asian) skin tone. It does not come off with sweat and humidity. PS - it won’t make you skin dehydrated at all. Arguably, my favourite drugstore foundation of all time. Wait till I tell you the price!

Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Foundation//
This foundation is probably one of the best luxury foundations available in the market. It is a 20% water based foundation and is infused with serum. It does not have any chemicals like silicone, parabens etc. So if you are one of those who get those pesky little breakouts during the summer month, this is perfect for you.
The foundation gives a sheer to a buildable full coverage (depending on how many drops you use). Comes with a pipette - super hygienic. Provides the face with an all day cover with a hydrating velvety finish that is not too shiny nor matt.
Price - USD$39

L.A Girls Pro Coverage HD Foundation//
A super dewy and very illuminating foundation for summer - you ask why? Well because there are girls like me who have a perpetual dry skin syndrome, and who need something dewy and hydrating that doesn’t create a makeup massacre on the face. This foundation is just that. Its hydrating and very dewy - but is “sets” on the face and doesn’t move after a while. It is high coverage and gives you face a hyper healthy glow that you won’t need a Champagne Pop to go. Another perk - gives no flashback and looks great even in flash photography. No creasing, no melting - just perfect!
Price - INR1150
Rating - ⭐⭐⭐⭐
(a star less for being more expensive in India)

Becca Ultimate Coverage Complexion Crème//
If you have been watching the news you must have heard off the USA dropping Mother Of All Bombs on ISIS. Now let me introduce you to the Mother Of All Foundations - Becca Ultimate Coverage Complexion Creme. This foundation is radical. It is probably the highest coverage foundation I have ever used, and I have the Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation. Once your apply it on your face, you have to work it in real fast as it sets really quick. The Coverage is super high that it might scare you - I’m not kidding. You won’t even need a concealer. Its full coverage take it or leave it. It gives an absolute dewy-matt finish and you do not need to powder it down. In fact I suggest that you would do not use powder.
It sticks to you face all day long, nothing but oil will take it off. Its absolutely weightless and does not feel heavy on face. Has caused no breakouts, and I have an acne prone skin.

    1. You can try Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation, even their Long Lasting one is good as well. For more expensive range I really like the Laura Mercier Hydrating ones …they are darn good!
